Hi, this post is about one of the tutorials explaining the step by step process of assembling an optode in a cap. You can watch the whole thing in the video below:
Assembly Systems
There are many different optode assembly systems that are determined by research paradigms. So before you proceed with the assembly, make sure that the particular assembly is suitable for the research you are about to conduct. It's also important to check if mounting is possible on a particular cap.
If you know what optod layout to adopt, we can get started. Everything you need is in the standard kit from CortiVision. The exception is the mannequin shown in the video (optional accessory), which should be considered for purchase as it makes working with optodes much easier.
What is important when mounting an optode? Note that there are two types of distance guards. Since they only differ by a few millimeters in length, make sure you apply them in the right places - as shown in the video. Don't worry if the whole process takes a long time at first. We assure you that you can quickly become proficient at it.
While we have not experienced any durability issues with the cap or optode mounts, they are by design wear items over the long term. After a period of time depending on the intensity of use, it may be necessary to order a new cap or other items.
